Faith in Nature

Hi Fellow Crafties,

Its time for cards again... not polymer clay..
These cards are done using the  Stampin' Up! 'Faith in Nature ' Stamp set. Love this one as it was so cool to use the aqua pen with the inks to colour... you don't necessarily have to stay in the lines to make it look great.. the background was grunged up a bit with the leaf stamp and a bit of tearing up and futher sponging...

If you like simple but effective, these are the card to try...

Stained Glass Polymer Clay!

Hi All,

Well, what can I say... yesterday I had the absolute privilege to spend the morning with Christi Friesen... we all laughed, learnt & clayed our hearts out!!! I have to say, she was one of a kind, beautiful, crazy and awesomely talented lady!!! I you haven't already, please check out her website on this link...

This was one of my creations made on the day.... sooooo addictive!! I want to play some more!!!!!!

The beautiful shimmer you can see is mica powder... we had so many yummy glitters to add but I just stuck with the powders, they were simply stunning. The clay used to get this effect was a blend of translucent, tiny bit of white, and a little colour.. this was then 'mushed' (the technical description) together and put through the trusty pasta machine, rolled into cylinders, wrapped in black clay.... rolled some more... shaped, cut and hey presto... you have the look of stained glass... AWESOME!!! The left overs were made into heart pendants... you will see these in Christi's website... great way to use the scraps.. I will post this too when I finish with some beads and leather strap etc... stay tuned!!

Simply, this was a morning I will never forget!!!
Playing with Polymer clay is definitely a thing you have to put on  your 'to do' list!

Please, please, please check out Chrisis website and see what all the excitement is about...

Will chat soon...

Together Forever

Hi Fellow Crafties...
As usual, I'm trying to do a blog 10 minutes before work... as you do...
My mission was to do a 'masculine' engagement card for a friend... doing cards for the male species are always a challenge but this is what I came up with..

I still wanted his wife to be to like the card so I stuck to quite neutral colours but still added a bit of bling... (just for her!!) You can never add too much bling I say! I want to do a couple of more options for my friend to choose from so will be busy tomorrow... what a shame, I will have to make cards on one of my few days off... how will I cope... mmmm..

Anyway, have to head off to work...
Enjoy your day!

Lesson with Christi Friesen!

OMG!!! I am soooooo excited!!!!!!!!

This Saturday I'm going to a lesson with the awesomely talented Christi Friesen from America!!! For those of you who are thinking 'what the... who is this Christi, and what does she do???'
Well, she is one of those special people who has taken what she loves and 'Lives it' to to fullest. She basically works with polymer clay mixing this with all sorts of metals, beads, stones, fibre etc etc... I simply cannot explain it all... you have go to go to her website..

Check out the link below for more info of the class I  will be attending... its to make stained glass polymer clay pendants... (as pictured above)

I will definitely post my finished product!!! I also would love to share my past 'Polymer' creations with you, so stay tuned...
I purchased all her book about 6 months ago and reading them alone is an experience in itself... she is such a talented artist as well as writer... so reading her books gave me a glimpse of the real Christi... not normal, slightly touched but oh so wonderful!!!

I'm counting down the sleeps... zzz
Bye for now..

Hi All...

The last blog of the day...

These cute little bags were an absolute must to share... LOVE them!!!! 'The Little Bags', as I'm calling them, may have to have their own section!! My mind is going a million miles thinking of different versions... I saw these done late last night on one of the may youtube sites visited... this is the link to get the basics..
I don't know bout you, but I have a drawer with HEAPS of scraps from pages and cards... great way to use them up!!
As suggested on the site, you can put heaps of goodies inside... stay tuned as I would love to share some of my ideas...

Have got to go and get ready to go out with the family...
Hope you are inspired to create your version of 'The Little Bag'...

Enjoy the day,

Happy 70th!

Hi De Ho fellow crafties,

Heading of tonight to celebrate Aunty Jens 70th, (Happy 70th Aunty Jen!!!) and just wanted to share the card I made for her...

I saw this done as just the pot and flowers but decided to see how it looked on a card...
I dragged out the trusty Stampin' Up Butterfly Punch to make the pansies... do pansies come in orange??? mmm... not sure... any way, I powered ahead and came up with this card. The flowers pull out to reveal the message... I recon this would be cool to have a gift voucher or scratchie attached to the bottom of the flowers. Yes, the mind boggles... unfortunately my mind never stops boggling... even when I sleep... zzzzz....

I've a couple of more posts to share and then time to put on my party shoes and go catch up with the relies over tea... had betta type quicker!!!

Enjoy your day,

Birthday Treats

Howdie fellow crafties,

Well, I finally got my Stampin' Up Create a Cupcake stamp set and Cupcake Builder punch out to try. I haven't had much of a chance to play with these yet, but yesterday I decided it was time to hit the 'Craft Room' for some therapy... you know the kind... play for the whole day, do no housework, eat, drink, play some more etc etc...
So I dragged out the bright papers and went to work... err.. should I say 'went to play'...
This is what I came up with (whilst watching season 6 of Supernatural!!!)
I can't believe how versatile these sets are! LOVIN' them!!!!
I want to do some potted flowers with the cupcake punch and stamp set... will post it as soon as its finished...

Anyway, have a great day... I'm off to enjoy the beautiful weather outside.
Till next time,
Luv Deb x

Thinking of You

Hi all,

Well as promised, I made a slightly grunged & inked version of the Hydrangea Card the Aldinga Beach girls are doing...

I think I orginally saw these hydrangea flowers make this way on the McGill Flower Punch website. There is a lot of cool videos of paper flower making on this site... but this is my version..The little flowers are stuck on a slice from a small foam ball... very effective but Aussie Post will hate this one.. major lumpy bumpy card...definately a hand delivered card.  And for those that are counting... yes, I have dragged out my trusty Stampin' Up Square Lattice embossing folder yet again... LOVE IT!!!

The Girls Craft Day...

Hi fellow crafties..

Well, the weather has definitely cooled down.. now that we have just installed a new air conditioner its too cool to use it... always the way!!!
Well I finally got my act together to help mum design her bit for the girls craft day at Aldinga Beach...
The hubbies are attending a IWCS get together (International Wood Collectors Society for those who are thinking 'what's an IWCS???'). While the men are doing their secret mens business in the tool shed chopping wood and discussing woodie things.. (that didn't sound too good... ) the 'Women Folk' all have to present something crafty to each other... learn some new things and generally catch up on all the gossip... Great way to spend the day!!! I know which group I'd rather hang with...

For those that are going here is a preview of what you will be making...
Now.. what colour to choose... mmmm... lets see...

I will try and get some photos to share of all the craftie things make on the weekend away...
Hope you all behave and enjoy making the Hydrangea Card... stay tuned for the grunged and inked version of this card. I stuck to the basics for this card as not to cause the ladies too much grief..
have fun,
Luv Deb x
