Soapy Adventures Continue...

Hi all..

just wanted to keep you filled in on the latest instalment of 'My Soapy Adventures'...

well... I just had a lovely delivery yesterday of some new fragrant oils... yayyyy... as usual when I get new oils, I couldn't sniff quick enough... they were YUMMM!!! I am trying oils from Sweetcakes (nice name) & Leispa. The 1st one I soaped with the new oils was Juicy Pear... I simply had to try them straight away! This one smelt great but accelerated the 'trace' of the soap...  for those non-soapers at home... this meant the soap went thick extremely fast!! So much for lovely swirls.... just had to 'glob' it into the mould! It still looked pretty cool considering. Gotta love a 'rustic' soap! Can't wait to unmould this one...
The waiting game is the hardest. I can't look for at least 24 hours... 'NO PEEKING!'

The soap above is 'Lime Cooler'.. the little speckles are tea leaves for a slightly 'scrubby' soap...
& the one below is 'Green Tea & Lemongrass'... I know.. the tea leaves probably should have been in this one but I was wanting to add the Bentonite Clay Beads... these are awesome tiny little clay beads that exfoliate...

Waiting, waiting, waiting...

once a week these little babies are being flipped to even out the drying... mmm... should have taken the photo with their pretty little heads facing up.... oh well... you get to see the sides...
This lot will be ready in 2 more weeks and will be available for sale... I will post all the soaps as they are cured on my Wild Wicks Blogspot...

....waiting.... (I'm not very patient!!!)
Still, I'm having fun... Isn't that what life is all about??? Try something new...

Till next time,

Gone Fishing...

Hi all...
the last 2 days have been quite productive... card making... soap making... card making... little bit of house work... card making... etc etc... (actually not that much house work.. but you get that...)
Today is more cards for 'the boys..' with fishing in mind...

...and now for those 'boys' who love the multi legged critters and creepy crawlies...
can't say I'm a fan of the real thing, but thought this stamp set was pretty cool... as far as bugs go...
They are stamps from Kaisercraft..' Hunt & Gather'. I also bought some hessian from Spotlight so you probably see some more of this soon... love the added earthy texture...

Well my friends.. had better go and put the veggies on for tea... yes... I'm being a good little housewife (dragging myself out of the craft room) and making an extra special tea for the boys...

Stay tuned for more...

This last week has been a bit hectic... sooo much happening.. not enough hours in the day! Finally I had a free hour or two to disappear in my lovely little room to do a bit of therapy... tonight's therapy was getting a bit of MOJO on...
This card was for all the 'fishermen' out there...
Here is the sketch and the card... 'Here Fishy Fishy...."

Well, time to curl up in bed for a bit of reading... and much needed sleep...

The Xmas Rush...

Hi all...

This past week or two has been a bit crazy... back to work... so not a lot of crafting has been done... but one thing I have been doing is designing some quick and easy cards Mum can make in bulk to send to friends and rellies...
Here are 3 of the designs using Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree, Joyous Celebration & Jolly Bingo Bits Stamp Sets... the stripy paper was from our new papers at work...

So... this is what I will be doing tomorrow... we have 30ish cards to make. Mum wanted simple... so simple it is... but still effective... Ive cut, stamped and prepped all the cards, so its just a production line to assemble them all... easy... maybe....

I will try and take some photos of the finished stash...
Till next time...
Ho Ho Ho... start that Xmas shopping... time is ticking....

Soapy Adventures...

Hi all..

The cold process soapy adventures continue...

Torsten is madly making soap moulds as we speak!! He's such a good boy... love him to bits!!!!!
This morning I unveiled my 1st 100% pure castile soap... its uncoloured, unscented and 100% olive oil... the only ingredient. My son has grown up with severe exma so I have spent a life time looking for completely natural soaps etc... so, Ive decided to make my own. I know heaps of people who are on the same quest for the all natural alternative... stay tuned as all my soaps will be for sale once cured...

As for the coloured alternative... these are all my latest.... once again, all natural ingredients and skin safe fragrances and colours... the hard bit is 'no peaking' for at least 24 hours after the soaps are poured.... and waiting 4 - 6 weeks for the soap to cure...

The 1st one is CK1 'Type'... one for the boys with tiny clay beads for a bit of exfoliating...
The next one is Kumquat fragrance... this one smells great...
The next one is Lime Cooler... with some blue clay beads added in the top layer..
Last but not least is Monkey Farts... love, love, love this fragrance...

I'm working on cupcake soaps as well... bit of a hideous colour... need to buy some bright colours as I only have oxide powders at the moment... still learning. I want these cupcakes to be bright & fun... & glittery... I haven't had any practise in piping so need to work on that... still... not too bad for my 1st effort!!!

I am eventually hoping to have some cool gift packs using soap & candles in the same fragrances in time for Xmas... or have them to purchase separate if needed for stocking fillers... stay tuned...

Well, time to check on the 'mould maker'... see if he needs a cuppa...

Congratulations...

Hi all...

Another nice lazy day... lovin' my holidays!!!!! There is so much to do around the house, but all housework has taken a back seat... for a while.. maybe tomorrow...

Today I decided to do another Wedding Card... as you can see, I haven't put away my 'little flower' punches just yet. I'm on a bit of a mission as friends are getting married at the end of October, so I am hunting for the perfect card...
The pearl paper was a bit of a bugga to photograph.. but you get the idea..

Well, time to round up some tea...
Till next time...
