Happy New Year to all... Cheers!

Hi all...

Well the year is almost over... I'm still amazed by how quickly it has flown... it has been a busy year... my 'little baby' turned 18 and is off to uni next year... I turned 50... they say 50 is the new 30.... well... at least I say that... and that is all that counts... my gorgeous craft room is just about finished... carports are going up as we speak... and the list goes on... all in all it has been an amazing year... loved every minute of it!

Now, 2016... bring it on! Myself and a couple of the girls at work have signed up for the Wanderlust course... 12 months of learning with wonderfully talented teachers to learn all there is about art journaling, painting techniques and lots more arty goodness... the count down is on! If you fancy finding out more about the Wanderlust 2016 journey, checkout the link on the right...

Just because I'm impatient... I've been playing with my 'new' art journal... this is what miraculously appeared.... not sure if it is finished yet....

Well... if I don't get a chance to visit before New Year's... hope you  all have a fun night spent with family and or friends... be safe and chat to you all in the New Year!

Cheers!

Thanks for visiting Debs Craft Shed throughout the year...

Purple Blossoms...

 Hi all...

Well... it doesn't get much better than this... I've just finished a painting and now sitting next to the pool enjoying a drink with my other half... life is great...

My boys gave me a new tablet for my birthday so blogging has become sooo much easier... the camera on it is amazing... hopefully you will all hear from me more often...

So... back to the painting... this is a biggie... 15 x 60 inches... love doing larger paintings...

I'm off now to do some glitter wine glasses for Christmas... photos are on there way...

Till next time..

Hey Cupcake....

Hi all..

Well... what a crazy night here at Lewiston... the sky is black, the thunder & lightening is doing its thing in spectacular fashion, rain is coming down pretty hard and it is very warm... awesome tropical weather... but here in little old Adelaide... the 'light show' is simply stunning here in the middle of farmland!

...oh... did I mention all the 'fuzzies' are going berserk? Well.. my big 65kg sook (Chewie) is trying to jam his big hairy butt under my legs... and who knows where the cat is... hiding somewhere!

I feel sorry for the poor farmer in our land behind our property... he is still out there on his harvester... good thing he has good lights.. trying, I guess, to save what crops he can before the ridiculously heavy rain predicted for tomorrow hits... I hope he will call it quits soon...

Amongst all this noise of thunder... (great atmosphere)... I wanted to share a card I made for a friend using an awesome Cupcake stamp from Deep Red... love it as it is soooo detailed... and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from Kaszazz...

Well.. I guess I had better go outside and give my son a hand at 'battening down the hatches' and saving what we can from this feral weather...

Till next time,

More Paper Beads...

Hi all...

Back again with some more paper beads... once you start with these little babies there is no stopping...

One day I may make something with these gorgeous little beads... I think it was all about the actual process... we quite often discuss this at work... mmm... food for thought...

Till next time...

Flight of the Butterfly...

Hi all..

Well... my earwig infestation in my sacred craft room is pretty much non existent... (for those of you who do not know... rural living has its hazards...) and it is full steam ahead with much nicer activities... painting to be exact...

I set myself a bit of a challenge.. do a painting with only pallet knives... mmm... painting is not my strongest talent but I was pretty pleased with the end result... I have a whole new respect for the pallet knife... It changed a bit as it went along but very happy with the result...

... the first photo on the top of the page has quite a bit of reflection on as it features quite a lot of pearl paint... was quite hard to get a decent photo... will post a new one if I can get a better shot... well... you get the idea anyway...

Well.. I'm now officially addicted to this type of painting... very liberating... stay tuned for more...

Till next time..

Paper Beads...

Mornin' all..

Just a quick hello before the morning 'school trek'... drop the 'kid' off... do a bit of food shopping... a necessary evil, back home for a quick sweep and mop etc. etc... and hopefully hit the craft room for some painting and crafting...

In the meantime... here are some paper beads I made... not sure what I will do with them yet but loved making them anyway... very therapeutic...

There are more to come... so stay tuned... gotta go... chat to you all soon...

Egg Shell Painting...

Morning all...

...and what a beautiful morning it is... the weather is amazing and most importantly... It's my day off work.. I have soooo much planned... whether I get it done or not is a completely different matter... I will give it all a fair old crack!!! ...mmm... I do have to squeeze the washing in there as well...

so, today's post is showing a painting I did a little while ago using egg shells as a texture for the background... also... what to do with the eggs... make an impossible quiche... this is  so yummy, quick & easy...

What I did was to to soak the egg shells in warm water for a day or 2 to release the membrane inside the egg... pealed the membrane off completely... cracked them in pieces and glued them down (curved side facing up) using Mod Podge... then a layer of Gesso once it was dried and then paint... simple...

This is the finished painting... reminds me of the beach... it is such a tactile painting... feels very cool... it is now living in our bathroom... pretty appropriate...

Well... time for me to venture into my Craft Shed... oh, it's such a chore...

Till next time,
Luv Deb x

In case you missed it...
