Hi all...
'Happy World Card Making Day!!!'
Personally I think it should be a public holiday... maybe one day... at least it should be a day free of any housework, cleaning, washing, cooking... blah, blah, blah.....
I just wanted to share an extract from Martha Stewart's Website telling a bit of history about 'WCMD'...
'World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, the holiday became known as World Card Making Day from then on.
Celebrating its eighth year in 2013, World Card Making Day is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in October. It's a day for the card-making community—hobbyists, retailers, and manufacturers—to unite and celebrate the connection and creativity that is the heart of card making. '
When thinking about what occasions most prompts people to make cards... it was a tough decision on what it would be... Birthdays or Christmas.... bit of a tie I think... any way, I decided to opt for the Christmas Card... It always seems a bit of a thing that takes careful planning an army like precision in executing the large amount of cards... numerous cups of caffeine or glasses of wine are often consumed and often done with the help of a family member or friends... and when the last card is sealed in the envelope, we swear to never make another card again... yer, right... like that will happen... I love it tooooo much!!! Here's today's 'Hybrid' cards... all done with Stampin' Up! Digital images & papers from the 'Joyful Times' Kit... add a bit of ink & some bling... & there you have it...
Well that's me for now.. hope you liked my first Christmas cards of the season...
Will chat a bit later...
Luv Deb x
